Comforts of Home
The Prosperity® Long-Term Care Fund and Tim Hortons Restaurants of Ottawa (Tim Hortons) have formed a partnership under a new program called Comforts of Home™. Under this program, Tim Hortons and The Prosperity Fund organize "afternoon coffee/tea socials" for the residents of numerous non-profit long-term care (LTC) homes in the City.
Long-term care homes are facilities designed for individuals who require 24-hour nursing care and supervision. In general, long-term care homes offer higher levels of personal care and support than those typically offered by retirement homes or supportive housing.
Many of the residents in these homes have mobility issues and rarely leave the home post-admission. As a result, many of these seniors are deprived of some of the comforts they are used to having, such as Tim Hortons.
Tim Hortons and The Prosperity Fund have delivered its Comforts of Home events at various in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Future Comforts of Home events will continue throughout the year and into 2012. To see which Comforts of Home events are upcoming, please see our News and Events section.
