Students for Seniors

The Students for Seniors™ Program provides high-school students with the opportunity to volunteer in non-profit LTC homes, building an intergenerational connection between youth and seniors.

According to A Profile of Canadian Chronic Care Providers, volunteer caregivers provide more than 80 percent of the care needed by individuals with long-term conditions, and contribute more than $5 billion of unpaid labour annually to the health care system.

Comforts of Home

The Prosperity® Long-Term Care Fund and Tim Hortons Restaurants of Ottawa (Tim Hortons) have formed a partnership under a new program called Comforts of Home™. Under this program, Tim Hortons and The Prosperity Fund will organize an "afternoon coffee/tea" for the residents of numerous non-profit long-term care (LTC) homes in the City.
