250 Guests Helped Make Our Fundraiser the Most Successful to Date
On Thursday, February 24th, 2011, 250 guests celebrated The Prosperity Fund at its annual fundraiser at the National Arts Centre. The final tally on the evening resulted in $36,000 in total funds raised, approximately double compared to our fundraiser the year before. Guests were treated to the soulful sounds of pianist Natalie Khoriaty on a baby grand piano, and enjoyed a variety of cocktails, food stations and excellent networking opportunities.
Our guests were also entertained by the always dynamic Dave Smith, Order of Canada recipient and local philanthropist, who auctioned a number of special items, including business class tickets to Europe and private villas in Barbados. Guests were also provided the opportunity to bid on over 30 silent auction items.
The Prosperity Fund and all of its volunteers (listed below) would like to thank the support of all of our sponsors (listed below), including our Platinum and Host Sponsor, MediSystem Technologies. Over 30 sponsors were instrumental in ensuring our event was a success, and their generosity helped us raise more funds than ever before.
The Prosperity Fund would also like to thank Mayor Jim Watson for his attendance and continued support of The Prosperity Fund, Ottawa Centre MPP Yasir Naqvi for his gracious presentation of the 2010 Caregiver Appreciaton Award, and Kimothy Walker of CTV Ottawa, for being our emcee.
We would also like to congratulate Ms. Ann Godbold, this year's recipient of the 2010 Caregiver Appreciation Award.
Lastly but not least, we would like to thank all of our attendees for their support of The Prosperity Fund. We hope that you continue to support us in the future, as we are committed to creating a better quality of life for seniors in Ottawa.
The Prosperity Fund is a progressive, volunteer-run charity that provides funding, programs and support to the region's non-profit long term care homes, its residents and their families. 100% of all donations are directed to our cause, with no donations being used to cover operating costs.
